OF LEAVING AND BROKEN HEARTED

“It turned out he wasn’t in love with me like I thought. What I’m trying to say is, I understand feeling as small and insignificant as humanly possible and how it can ache in places you didn’t know you had inside you. And it doesn’t matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join or glasses of champagne you drink with your girlfriends, you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong, or how you could’ve misunderstood and how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he’ll see the light and show up at your door and after all that however long all that may be, you’ll go somewhere new and you’ll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again and it’ll be as though your soul will finally come back and all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted that will eventually begin to fade.” — The Holiday

Sometimes when I get quiet for a long time, I worry that you have not only taken away what was left of my heart, but that you also took away what was left of my voice — because if I don’t have my heart, then all I have are my words and to be so broken without anything to say is very much like not being able to live at all.

“This is a good sign, having a broken heart. It means we have tried for something.” — Elizabeth Gilbert

“You have to have your heart broken. That’s the reality of life and if you are protected from this sadness, then how can you grow? How can you recognize real happiness when you see it?” — Marion Cotillard

Sometimes you have to be strong for yourself. You have to know that you're a good person and a good friend. What's meant to be will end up good and what's not-won't. Love is worth fighting for but sometimes you can't be the only one fighting. At times, people need to fight for you. If they don't, you just have to move on and realize what you gave them was more than they were willing to give you. Hopefully, people realize great things when they come around and don't lose something real. Always fight, until you can't anymore, and then be fought for. - poeticheartache

Sometimes it's easy to feel like you're the only one in the world who's struggling, who's frustrated, or unsatisfied, or barely getting by. But that feeling's a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes. Someone to help us hear the music in the world, to remind us that it won't always be this way. That someone is out there. And that someone will find you. - poeticheartache

I kinda miss the bond we shared. I mean, who wouldn't miss that comfortable feeling with a person. Where we could talk for hours about everything, anything and not have a problem with the silence in the middle. Can't forget all the ridiculous stuff we did. Stupid or not, everything was just so fun. Endless nights, real talks, the "remember whens" I remember it all. And it's funny what life does, how it could just give you things and take it away so soon. I really can't get it to my head that you grow distant from people and that good things come to an end sooner or later. But along the way I learned one thing about life; it goes on, you just gotta pick yourself up and learn to keep up. - escapefromastarcrossedworld

my life so far has been a steady stream of mistakes to lead me to this mess of a life i can’t seem to get out of now. broken hearts and regrets raining down all over the place. - lovebot

When somebody loves you, you’re supposed to be perfect in their eyes. At least that’s what we hope for. Then one day reality happens and you hear that you’ve been replaced by somebody better. Honestly I’ve known since day one there is nothing special about me so I’ll swallow the pain of knowing you found someone who is better than me. - brokendisposition

“You might have to meet a few more jerks, but one day you’re gonna meet a boy who treats you the way you deserve to be treated. Like the sun rises and sets with you.” — Zac Efron, 17 Again

“She wants to know if I love her, that’s all anyone wants from anyone else, not love itself but the knowledge that love is there, like new batteries in the flashlight in the emergency kit in the hall closet.” — Jonathan Safran Foer

“I close my eyes, thinking that there is nothing like an embrace after absence, nothing like fitting my face into the curve of his shoulder and filling my lungs with the scent of him.” — Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult
